Blumenthal Arts and QCity Metro have partnered to host Bid Whist game nights throughout the city this month.

The once-popular card game is prominently featured in “Immediate Family,” a play about the drama that unfolds inside a Black family in Chicago.

The play is written by Paul Oakley Stovall, directed by Phylicia Rashad and produced by Blumenthal Arts.

“Immediate Family” is showing at Booth Playhouse through Sept. 7.

The Bid Whist pop-up series includes three game nights where attendees can play (or learn to play) the card game.
