BATESVILLE, Miss. (WMC) - A Mid-South woman is charged with attempted murder after investigators say she planted a homemade bomb outside a person’s car.

Several law enforcement agencies worked together to capture Christina Laureen Willis, 27, on Monday following a federal search warrant at her home in Batesville, Mississippi.

She is now charged with attempted murder and planting of a bomb following a multi-agency investigation that began in Lafayette County in June.

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office reports that a suspicious package was discovered on a vehicle in the southwest portion of the county on Friday, June 20. The targeted victim removed the package before it was secured by deputies for further investigation.
