Actor Alfie Wise, who starred alongside Burt Reynolds in “Smokey and the Bandit” and nine other films, is dead at 82.
Wise died on July 22 from natural causes in West Palm Beach, Fla., his longtime fiancée, Stephanie Bliss, told The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday.
Wise appeared with Reynolds in screwball comedies including “The Longest Yard,” “Hooper” and “The Cannonball Run.”
“His films were like an ongoing block party. I think the audience caught on to that,” Wise told the Daily News after Reynold’s death in 2018. “You always knew you were going to have a great time with a Burt Reynolds movie.”
Wise also worked with Reynolds in 1983’s “Stroker Ace,” where the mustachioed leading man teamed up with his future wife , Loni Anderson, who died Sunday and would have turned 80 on
