A former Pulaski County Clerk’s Office employee was arrested for felony voter fraud Thursday following an investigation into swapped voter precincts that affected only four voters, but that could have disenfranchised 132 voters.

Deborah Smith, 57, is accused of switching the precincts of 132 North Little Rock voters to Maumelle ahead of the 2024 general election, according to a press release from Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin.

“We determined during our investigation that Smith deliberately switched the voter registrations while employed at the clerk’s office,” Griffin said in the press release. “She is charged with one count of violation of voter eligibility, a Class D felony.” In Arkansas, Class D felonies are the least serious class of felonies, punishable by up to six years in
