CHINLE, Ariz. —
A small medical transport plane crashed in northeastern Arizona and left several people dead.
The Navajo Police Department said four people were on board and died in the crash. The plane caught fire Tuesday afternoon near the Chinle Airport.
The aircraft fire and crash happened around 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5. The plane took off from Albuquerque and was enroute to pick up a patient from a nearby hospital during the crash.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane crashed upon landing at the Chinle, Arizona airport. The cause of the crash was unknown and is under investigation.
