WATERTOWN — Seventh-seeded Harrisburg Gold looked and played like the best team in the 2025 South Dakota state Class A American Legion Baseball tournament .

That's why Harrisburg, which had struggled all season, won the championship. Harrisburg completed a 5-0 run through the five-day tournament by beating Yankton 2-0 in the title game on Saturday, Aug. 2 at Watertown Stadium.

Harrisburg opened the postseason by sweeping a best-of-three, state-qualifying playoff series over Brookings and the seven-game winning streak has pushed its record to 21-20.
