RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- On Monday, Aug. 4 a federal jury convicted a repeat felony offender for possession of a firearm during an incident earlier this year in Henrico County.
According to court records, and evidence presented at a trial on Feb. 23, Henrico County Police found 35-year-old Tajon Rasheed Baskerville, of Richmond, going through a purse taken from a nearby vehicle.
According to officials, as an officer patted Baskerville down, the officer found a firearm in a holster on his hip, after which Baskerville pulled away and struck the officer, which resulted in him falling.
Baskerville then drew his firearm which led the officer to draw his weapon in response. The 35-year-old tossed his weapon and fled on foot according to officials. The officer recovered the firearm and detained
