The historic Gufler mansion will soon have new owners. According to a social media post, Dr. Benjamin Kohl and Deborah Kohl are purchasing the property and will serve as its new hosts.

The mansion is currently owned by Brad and Susan Cochennet, who purchased it in 2016. They originally purchased the mansion and made the move to Emporia to be closer to Brad’s mother, who was in ailing health.

The Gufler mansion was originally constructed in 1915 at the behest of Albert Gufler. The stately home contains three living areas, two sunrooms, three kitchens, two dens, a laundry room and multiple bedrooms. The spacious yard boasts a swimming pool — now used as a sunken garden — and a brick-lined driveway and a carriage house.
