WACO, Texas — Dozens of protesters gathered on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at the Federal Building in Waco to demand the release of Noe Guerrero, a Waco man who remains in federal custody despite having his criminal charges dropped by the Department of Justice.

Guerrero was arrested by ICE on July 24 for not presenting documentation during an immigration enforcement action. However, his attorney, Anali Looper, said Guerrero did have proper documentation but was too terrified to present it during the encounter.

A viral social media video showed an ICE agent in plain clothes smashing Guerrero's car window to open his door and get him out of the vehicle.

"It's really upsetting that he is still being detained," said Guisel Garcia, Guerrero's cousin, who attended today's protest.
