The Green Bay Packers have signed center Leticus Smith and have waived receiver Sam Brown Jr. with an injury designation. The Packers signed Brown at the end of May after a successful workout with the team. Recently, the former Houston Cougars teammate of first-round rookie Matthew Golden has been dealing with an ankle issue.

More than likely, the Packers signed Smith due to their issues with shotgun snaps. While Elgton Jenkins, Sean Rhyan and Jacob Monk should have the team covered at the position when it comes time for the regular season, the reserve centers on the team (Trey Hill and Donovan Jennings) have both struggled converting to the position.
