Charles Smith is a retired math teacher who has returned to teaching for the state to help students improve their ACT scores. He has implemented math labs in most of the high schools in Montgomery.

“I nominated him because everything he does, he does for our church and for the kids in the community, and not only in MPS, but surrounding counties, Baldwin County. He set up math labs at Percy Julian, Brewtech, BTW, and he always is giving back. He’s always giving back,” said his nominator Reginald Traywick.

Smith teaches math, algebra, trigonometry and calculus. And we’re told he goes out of his way to try to help someone.
