President Donald Trump once again threatened a federal takeover of D.C., calling crime “totally out of control” and saying a member of DOGE was badly beaten recently.

In a post on his Truth Social platform , Trump referenced a man who was beaten by “local thugs.” The post includes a photo of what appears to be a bloody victim.

Trump said Tuesday afternoon the victim in that incident was a member of the Department of Government Efficiency.

"By the way, I have to say that somebody from DOGE was very badly hurt last night,” he said. “You saw that. A young man who was beat up by a bunch of thugs in D.C. And either they're gonna straighten their act out in terms of government and in terms of protection, or we're going to have to federalize and run it the way it's supposed to be run."
