Voters made very clear statements Tuesday, approving proposals and Nov. 4 candidates.
The unofficial results:
Southfield’s incumbent mayor, Ken Siver, received 5,808 votes, more than 57% of the 10,111 ballots cast. He’ll face Sylvia Jordan in November, who received 3,867 votes Tuesday. Ryan Foster trailed with 512 votes.
In Pontiac, voters chose current city council president Mike McGuinness and a former council president, Kermit Williams, from nine mayoral candidates. McGuinness received 2,820 votes, nearly 45% of the of the 6.295 ballots cast to Williams’ 1.579, or just over 25% of ballots cast.
The next closest candidate, Alexandria T. Riley, received 974 votes or nearly 15.5% of the votes cast. Another Sheriff’s deputy, Gill Garrett,
