A bee visits flowers during the Sawtooth Botanical Garden’s recent Garden Tour. The tour invited community members to peruse multiple private and public Wood River Valley gardens meticulously cultivated by gardeners and pollinators alike. Idaho boasts more than 700 native bee species, according to Idaho Fish and Game, though bees aren’t the only critters responsible for pollination. Birds, bats and other insects also help out with the process, which is key to the survival of many plant species on Earth.
