Symptoms of colon cancer, a type of bowel cancer, can be easily dismissed as normal ailments. But it's crucial to be able to recognise the signs, as bowel cancer is one of the most common forms of the disease in Scotland. ‌

In fact, around 4,000 Scots are diagnosed with bowel cancer every year, according to Public Health Scotland. And early diagnosis is crucial, as nine out of 10 patients who are diagnosed quickly will survive. ‌

In order to receive diagnosis, it's important to know the signs of this fatal disease. But many colon and bowel cancer symptoms are easily dismissed or ignored until it's too late. ‌
