BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Five additional parishes were added to the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services' (DCFS) SNAP produce bonus pilot project.

According to a release, SNAP recipients can now earn 30 cents for every dollar spent on fruits and vegetables from Walmart. They can earn as much as $25 back a month on their EBT cards.

Walmart stores in Calcasieu, Jackson, Lafayette, Rapides, and Terrebonne parishes are now participants of the Electronic Healthy Incentives Project (eHIP), in addition to Ascension, LaSalle, Sabine, Tangipahoa, Webster, and West Carroll parishes.
