A crash has blocked part of a major road in Cambridge on Wednesday afternoon (August 6). Two lanes of the A14 are blocked on the westbound carriageway near Girton.

Long delays are building in the area. Traffic monitoring site Inrix said: "A14 Westbound partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident from J31 M11 J14 (Girton / Cloverleaf Interchange, Girton) to J25 B1050 Hattons Road (Bar Hill, Bar Hill)."

A Cambridgeshire County Council spokesperson said: "A14 WB between J31 Girton and J25 Barhill [sic]. Lanes 3 and 4 of 4 are currently closed due to an RTC.

"Delays are building. Please plan your journey."

The emergency services have been contacted for more information.
