An arrest has been made in the 30-year-old killing of a D.C. police officer.

Officer Denna Campbell, a four-year veteran on D.C.’s police force, was found shot to death in her White Oak, Maryland, apartment by her live-in boyfriend in 1995. He was initially charged with murder, but those charges were dropped two months later .

The suspect, who hasn’t yet been named, was arrested nearly 30 years after her body was found in her home, police said Tuesday.

Montgomery County police will hold a news conference Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. in Gaithersburg and are expected to release more information about the arrest and investigation.
