SUNSET, Utah (ABC4) — A man in Sunset was arrested after he allegedly set fire to a police patrol car in an attempt to get the attention of law enforcement.

Chad Randal Livingston, 46, reportedly called 911 after he ran out of lighter fluid and set the police car on fire. He was then safely taken into custody and booked on third-degree felony charges of arson and property damage.

Investigators say Livingston walked to the Sunset City Office Building on Tuesday, Aug. 5, found the patrol car and doused it the lighter fluid before lighting it on fire. Police estimate the fire caused up to $5,000 in damages to the vehicle.

When speaking with investigators, Livingston allegedly said he "wanted to make a change" and referenced that he was "upset with people using his name." Livingston alleged
