The San Antonio Spurs continue to eek towards a finished product as the offseason slowly drags on. Two days after signing De’Aaron Fox to a max contract extension, they have filled in the second of their three two-way spots by re-signing sharp-shooting forward and restricted free agent Riley Minex, per ESPN’s Shams Sharania.
Undrafted out of Morehead State in 2024, Minix played for the Spurs in Summer League last year before signing an Exhibition 10 contract. He impressed enough in training camp and the preseason to earn the final two-way spot alongside David Duke Jr. and Harrison Ingram. With last year’s Spurs being so deep, Minix only appeared in one game and played seven total minutes with San Antonio, with his only recordable stat being a three-point attempt.
