RUSK, Texas (KETK) - The Rusk Independent School District has named a lone finalist for their superintendent position.

According to the School Board President Martin Pepin, Dr. Mid Johnson was chosen to fill the vacant position.

Johnson is currently the superintendent for Timpson ISD and has been there for more than a decade.

Back in May, Nacogdoches ISD announced Grey Burton who served at the head man at Rusk for seven years had been selected as their lone finalist for superintendent.

Following that announcement, in July the district announced Dr. J. Glenn Hambrick as their interim superintendent.

In accordance with Texas state law, the district must wait 21 days before Johnson is officially named superintendent.
