ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A large crowd of Abilene residents, leaders, and community involved partners gathered on Tuesday at the future site of Abilene Heritage Square on South 1st Street. This gathering was held in celebration of the 'topping off' of the building, crews officially placing the final beam on top, marking the completion of the physical structure and one step closer to opening day, which is set for late 2026.

Following the placement of the beam, KTAB/KRBC was taken on a tour of the site. Linbeck Construction Engineer Katey Graham led the tour, filling us in on the progress that has been made.
