Rigo Vivar, a former deputy for the Harris County Precinct 6 Constable’s Office, was arrested and charged with manslaughter in connection to a 2024 vehicle crash that killed 28-year-old Ricardo Resendez.

The criminal charge was filed against Vivar in late June. He first appeared in court on Tuesday, according to court documents.

Paul Aman, an attorney hired to represent Vivar, could not immediately be reached for comment. A person representing Aman’s office said the office could not comment on the case.
