CHICAGO — Texas Democrats in Illinois were forced to evacuate their hotel this morning after a bomb threat was made against the members there, the party and representatives said.

Democratic Caucus Chair Rep. Gene Wu and several other Democratic leaders said a threat was made Wednesday morning against members of the Texas House Democratic Caucus.

"We are safe, we are secure, and we are undeterred," said Wu, Rep. Ramon Romero, D-Fort Worth and Rep. Barbara Gervin Hawkins, D-San Antonio, in a statement. "We are grateful for Governor Pritzker, local, and state law enforcement for their quick action to ensure our safety."

Two other members of the Democratic caucus said in statements that the threat was a bomb threat.
