The Indoor Football League has admitted making a mistake on the final play of the San Diego Strike Force’s playoff win over the Arizona Rattlers, but stopped short of reversing the game’s result.

The IFL reviewed film from the final seconds of Monday’s 49-48 thriller and found the Strike Force committed a pre-snap penalty that should have resulted in a 10-second runoff and the end of the game.

“Specifically, a false start occurred, as three or more players were not set at the time of the snap,” the IFL said in a statement released late Tuesday.
