A Long Island fire chief has been suspended pending an investigation after a video shared on social media appeared to show him yelling profanities at a 10-year-old girl during an emergency call, officials said Tuesday.

“We have become aware of an incident … between a member of the North Babylon Fire Company during an aided call,” the fire company’s executive board said in a press release.

The firefighter, identified as Peter Alt, chief of the North Babylon Volunteer Fire Company, was caught on a cellphone camera interacting with the child, who repeatedly says she wants to go home as she’s placed in an ambulance while strapped to a stretcher Monday night.

“Shut the f–k up! It’s like this with you every f–ing week!” Alt can be heard yelling.
