Water bills could soon increase in Delaware
Veolia Water Delaware filed for a 42.8% rate increase in January, shortly after the company’s last rate increase of 12.67% was approved in 2024. The proposed increase would see the average residential bill increase by 63 cents per day, or $19.19 per month.
The jump stems from Veolia’s $62 million plan for customer improvements in its Delaware water system, which included $42.5 million in upgrades to the company’s Stanton Water Treatment Plant to meet new federal drinking water standards for PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) a
