The Millennium Time Capsule, originally installed in 2000, was opened on Wednesday during a public ceremony attended by dozens of community members.

Those gathered were eager to catch a glimpse of life in Peterborough a quarter century ago while dedicating a new time capsule to the next generation of residents, to be opened in 2050.
