Legal sales of cannabis to adults for recreational use in Delaware topped half-a-million dollars between last Friday and Sunday.

Medical marijuana dispensaries were able to convert for retail sales, which became legal August 1st. With medical cannabis sales included, more than $903,000 were spent, generating nearly $94,000 in tax revenue.

According to the Office of the Marijuana Commissioner , consumers were most interested in buying usable marijuana known as "flower," followed by marijuana extract for inhalation, edibles, and other items.

Officials also said routine compliance checks throughout the weekend did not uncover any significant incidents.

More conditional licenses are expected to be issued by the end of summer.
