DESOTO COUNTY, Miss. (WMC) - A man has been sentenced for a high-speed chase, in which he evaded police as he crossed state lines.

Rashood Jefferson was convicted of felony fleeing after an incident in Olive Branch where he attempted to evade law enforcement.

Jefferson crossed the state line into Tennessee, but both the Olive Branch Police Department and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department coordinated to apprehend him.

“You can run, but you cannot hide from law enforcement in DeSoto County. We appreciate the work of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department in helping us bring Jefferson back to face justice in DeSoto County,” said District Attorney Matthew Barton.
