SUNSET — A man was taken into custody Tuesday after police say he called Davis County Dispatch and said he lit a car on fire. The car was a Sunset City Police vehicle.
A probable cause statement for the incident said 46-year-old Chad Randal Livingston told dispatch that he lit a car on fire because police told him they were going to kill him.
The statement said Livingston walked from his home to the Sunset City Office Building with a torch and a bottle of lighter fluid with the intent of setting a vehicle on fire. When he got there, he saw a Sunset City Police car.
“He doused the driver’s door and window, the roof, and wrote his name on the back hatch of the vehicle in lighter fluid, where he took the torch he brought with him and lit the police vehicle on fire,” the statement said.
