Soulja Boy has been released from jail after prosecutors declined to press charges against the rapper after he was arrested for possession of a gun.

The “Crank That” star spent two nights in custody before it was decided he would not have a case to answer.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement: “A case was declined due to insufficient evidence.”

In response to the release, Soulja Boy wrote “first day out,” on his Instagram Stories.

Soulja Boy was pulled over in a traffic stop in Los Angeles where he was the passenger in a vehicle.

Police did not reveal what prompted the traffic stop, who was driving the vehicle or why a search was conducted.

Soulja Boy was previously convicted of carrying a loaded gun in 2014.
