ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KBRC) - As the 2025 school year approaches, the nonprofit Communities In Schools of the Big Country will join the Tools for School initiative to help thousands of local students start the year in great shape.

Tools for School is a community-driven campaign aimed at equipping students in need with essential school supplies — from backpacks and notebooks to pencils and folders — so they can begin the academic year on equal footing with their peers.

Communities In Schools of the Big Country currently serves 22 campuses across the region. Their priority goes beyond school supplies; they also provide clothing, support for academic attendance, behavior, and mental wellness.
