WASHINGTON >> United Airlines today said it has suspended flights due to a technical issue, and anticipates additional flight delays in the evening.

“Due to a technology issue, we are holding United mainline flights at their departure airports,” the airline said.

ABC News reported that airline officials confirmed in a statement that it was not a cyberattack and that the problem was related to its weight and balance computer system.

“Due to a technology issue, we are holding United mainline flights at their departure airports,” United said in a statement. “We expect additional flight delays this evening as we work through this issue. Safety is our top priority, and we’ll work with our customers to get them to their destinations.”
