LUBBOCK, Texas -- Lee Lewis Construction is continuing work on the Medical Examiner's office in Lubbock County. Natalie Harvil, director of facilities with Lubbock County, said the construction was about 75 percent complete.

"You can see, they're putting in carpet, they put in tile. We're working on getting ceilings in. We're working, I mean, the HVAC is almost done," Harvil said.

According to Harvil, the technology in this office was state-of-the-art, including a recovery room and a body cooler.

"This part, the large part, is the cooler; the far part is the freezer. And so between the two, we can accommodate almost 300 bodies," Harvil said.

Along with the central part of the facility, there is a specifically designed autopsy room.
