Santa Barbara County residents can roll up their sleeves and discover the people and practices behind the region’s agricultural industry Sept. 6, during Santa Barbara County Farm Day.
Organized by the nonprofit Students for Eco-Education and Agriculture (SEEAG), the event offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at over 20 local farms, ranches, nurseries, and agricultural organizations from Carpinteria to Santa Maria, all opening their doors to the public for free.
“Santa Barbara County Farm Day is one of our nonprofit organization’s core programs,” said Caitlin Paulus Case, executive director of SEEAG. “As a nonprofit, our goal is to connect communities to farming and food and agriculture, which is particularly important for communities on the Central Coast where we're surrounded by agricul
