Imagine being on your way back home after work, and the next thing you remember is waking up in the hospital with no memory of what happened — that’s exactly what Angelica Zúñiga went through.

Her family said she was assaulted on her way home, and since then, they’ve had to do all they can just to stay afloat.

Zúñiga’s family told News4 she crossed a bridge in Kirkwood Neighborhood park with her scooter daily to get home, but one June night, she did not make it to her apartment.

After desperately looking for her for 12 hours, they found her in the intensive care unit of a local hospital.
