MCCORMICK, SC (WJBF)- Both McCormick football coach Leroy Collier and McCormick County Sheriff Chad Cox were looking to rally its community around football and a good cause.
That's why, when McCormick's football team takes the field Thursday in scrimmage action to prepare for the 2025 season, you're going to see both the coach and sheriff.
In addition, members of their respective staffs lining up on the football field running routes and catching passes in a special coach vs. deputies 7-on-7 matchup. The proceeds will go to the "Team Tatum" movement to support McCormick student Tatum Fole in her fight with cancer.
"I was Tatum's teacher last year and she was in my class and she kind of told me she was going through something, and I always looking for a way to give back," Collier said.
