MISSOURI - A House Springs man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Route 30 after investigators say a mechanical defect caused his bike to shake and veer off the road.
He was thrown from the bike and died at the scene.
The crash is part of a troubling trend. Missouri saw 133 motorcycle fatalities last year, fewer than in 2022, but still higher than before the state repealed its universal helmet law in 2020.

Advocates say more needs to be done to protect riders.
