AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas women's basketball team faces its nemesis, South Carolina, on the road in Southeastern Conference play this season.

The SEC released the women's basketball schedule Wednesday, and it has a Thursday-Sunday cadence throughout the season, except for a Monday matchup against Kentucky Feb. 9 in Austin.

A Final Four team last season, the Longhorns begin SEC play on New Year's Day against Missouri on the road, and then come back to Moody Center on Jan. 4 for the home opener against Ole Miss. The 16-game schedule features matchups against each team at least once, and this year, the Longhorns will face Louisiana State twice.
