BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The community came out on Monday to help raise some funds for the Brazos County 4-H team in a very sweet way.

Deserts were submitted in several categories that were then judged at the 54th Brazos County 4-H Cake Show & Auction. Those deserts were made by 4-H members, adults, and family members.

Categories included 4-H theme cakes, chocolate cakes, good old-fashioned eating, pound cakes, cookies, pies & cobblers, and more. Those deserts were auctioned off, with all the money going towards things such as scholarships, short courses, award programs, summer camps, and other initiatives.

When asked about what it means to be able to raise those funds, Sam Aguirre with the Brazos County 4-H Council said it has helped provide so many opportunities for youth like him.
