HELENA — Frontier Conference teams battle 22 days from Wednesday’s East Division Media Day, a first-year splitting of two seven-team leagues that now comprise the 14-team conference .

Four former North Star Athletic Association programs (Dakota State, Dickinson State, Mayville State, Valley City State) were extended Frontier invitations following their league’s disbanding, joining Montana-based members MSU-Northern, Montana Tech and Rocky Mountain College.

Each team, as is the case in the Western Division, is slated to play six intra-conference games to determine a division champion and one of the Frontier’s two automatic bids into the 20-team NAIA Football Championship Series.
