CLOQUET, Minn. (Northern News Now) - After more than five years without a K9 officer at the Cloquet Police Department, they have added a new member to their team.

“This is a first for me; it’s going to be a lot of work, but I’m really looking forward to it, and I think he (K9 Ghost) wants to get to work already,” said Officer Brodie Norquist, who has been with CPD since 2020 and is now the handler of their only K9 officer.

K9 Ghost is still getting to know his owner before they begin a 12-week training course to prepare him for patrol.

“I’ve had him for two weeks now, and that’s what this period before training is for, just bonding with the dog and getting to know each other,” said Nordquist, “Getting him to trust me and vice versa.”
