The City of Brandon has signed off on giving $630,000 to the Keystone Centre, months after it was initially promised.
The province will also be giving another $800,000 to the facility. Both totals will be split over two years.
Council approved the move after it was originally promised during budget deliberations in January. The delays were mainly because the city, province and Keystone all have fiscal years ending at different times.
“It was a little bit of dotting I’s and crossing T’s, because it was all kind of agreed to several months ago,” Keystone Centre board chair Bruce Luebke said about how council had to approve the funding last week. “It just was more of the formal process.”
The city’s funding is in addition to other money it was already giving the Keystone.
The funding will
