Grant helps funds new computer lab
East Los Angeles: The Eastmont Community Center last week honored residents who had completed a digital training program and also celebrated a $15,000 grant for its new computer lab. The nonprofit opened the bilingual computer lab to teach participants—many of them older adults and working parents—how to apply for jobs online, access telehealth services, stay connected with their children’s schools, and manage online banking and other services, according to Executive Director Isaias Hernandez. The lab received a $15,000 grant through the Spectrum Digital Education program to improve digital literacy in undeserved communities
