More people are seeking assistance from the Franklin County Health Department, but some grant funding is decreasing.
County commissioners approved a Women Infants and Children (WIC) Local Agency Nutrition Services Program contract for federal funds administered through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) on Tuesday. The grant, which covers the period between Oct. 1, 2025, and Sept. 30, 2026, is a decrease of $2,600 from what the county received from the federal WIC grant for the current fiscal year, even though more people are being served by the health department. ×
