A couple of years ago, I was having a discussion with my buddy and former colleague Eric Eyre about some of the new media outlets that were forming in West Virginia. It was clear to us that these startups, some of which have gone on to produce truly great journalism, would be a young (or younger) person's game.

"So, what do we do?" Eric asked.

"It's simple," I replied in a sarcastic deadpan. "We start a podcast."

We both broke down laughing.

"Sure, we start a podcast," Eric said, still laughing. "Maybe 10 years ago."

He had a point. The podcast market is, without a doubt, oversaturated. Aside from that, a podcast featuring Eric and myself would, how should I put this, suck. Sure, we're both entertaining and delightful people, and my face is particularly suited for an audio medium, but
