PAYSON, Ariz. — Arizona State’s annual trip to Camp Tontozona has always been about building toughness. This year, that theme runs straight through the Sun Devils’ running back room, and one of the top contenders for the starting job knows a thing or two about grit.

Kanye Udoh, a transfer from Army, is not just trying to survive fall camp in the woods—he’s trying to lead.

“If there’s anyone with the survival skills for this place, it’s the guy who came from West Point,” head coach Kenny Dillingham said.

Udoh enters a deep, talented running back room and knows a strong finish to fall camp could put him in position to start Week 1.
