Alexander McKenna made history by becoming the first ever five-time Gird ‘n’ Cleek World Champion on Sunday.
He retained his crown at the Scottish Alternative Games in New Galloway on Sunday afternoon.
He won the men’s final after some tight competition from the games piper Ollie Rigg – who was wearing his kilt!

In the final, Alexander hit the front on the second lap and finished ahead of Ralph Spernagel, who was runner-up for the third year running.
Adding an international flavour was young Kiril Bukii, who finished third representing Ukraine.
A big crowd turned out for the
