Drew Snively was almost ready to close the door on the idea of playing college basketball when he was presented with an opportunity.
Not just any opportunity.
Snively, a 6-4 standout at Zionsville , received a call from Indiana assistant Drew Adams about the possibility of walking on at IU . For a lifelong IU fan — and one who was already planning to attend school on the Bloomington campus — it took all of about 2 seconds to accept.
“I was debating whether to play or not and I had a few options,” said Snively, a three-year starter at Zionsville who averaged 12.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists last season as a senior. “Then I decided to just go to IU for school. But when I got the call from coach Adams, it was hard to say no to that.”
